Te mapa
Seen from above, Victoria is a narrow band of city squeezed onto the northern edge of Hong Kong Island. The harbour defines one side, the mountain the other, and almost every street runs parallel to the water. Lower roads are straight and orderly, laid on reclaimed land. Higher up they bend and switch back as they climb, following the contours of the hillside.
The old shoreline can still be traced inland, since much of today's waterfront was built out into the harbour in successive stages. Tram lines run east to west along the flat strip, while the Mid-Levels escalator cuts uphill through the grid, one of the longest outdoor covered escalator systems in the world. Above it, Victoria Peak rises into green, with barely a road on its upper flanks.
A Victoria map poster captures that sharp contrast between packed, stepped streets and open water, with the ferry piers and the shoreline drawn in clean black lines. The composition is naturally horizontal, a long seam of city tucked beneath the mountain. It is the historic core of Hong Kong, reduced to its essential geometry.
The flat strip along the harbour was built out into the water over generations, so the straightest streets and the largest blocks sit on land that was once open sea.
A chain of covered escalators and walkways climbs straight up the hillside from Central, slicing across the contour-following streets that wind toward the residential Mid-Levels.
The summit above the city stays largely green, with a few winding roads and trails, forming a dark, quiet mass behind the dense band of streets below.

Koteā ko Victoria
For many people Victoria is where Hong Kong began, and its outline recalls ferry crossings, tram rides and steep walks home. It suits anyone who has lived on the island or passed through its streets, and it reads as strong graphic design even to those who have not.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates, such as a neighbourhood, a street name or a date that matters. Choose one of five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the HD files or order a printed poster.
