Te mapa
Wong Tai Sin lies in north Kowloon and is the only district in Hong Kong without a coastline. On the map it is a close weave of roads, estate blocks and flyovers, pressed up against the hills that form Kowloon's northern edge. The streets bend around the slopes instead of forming a strict grid.
The district takes its name from the Wong Tai Sin Temple, one of the best-known temples in Hong Kong, visited for its fortune-telling tradition. Nearby in Diamond Hill are Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden, which stand out as calmer open spaces among the housing estates.
A Wong Tai Sin map poster captures a very dense part of the city. The ridge of Lion Rock gives it a natural boundary to the north, the MTR corridor and main roads run through the middle, and the large public housing estates fill the space between them.
The hill rises over the district's northern edge. On the map, the street network stops where the slope gets steep, leaving a clean, open boundary.
Wong Tai Sin Temple, Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden appear as distinct open areas in the tight urban fabric, giving the map a few quieter points.
Public housing estates cover much of the district. They show up as large, regular clusters served by looping access roads, very different from older street grids.

Koteā ko Wong Tai Sin
Many people in Hong Kong grew up in these estates or visited the temple with their families. A poster of Wong Tai Sin keeps that neighbourhood close, even from the other side of the world.
You can add a title, a subtitle and coordinates, for instance the name of an estate or a year, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper and Sand soften the density, while Noir makes it stand out.
