Te mapa
Chivacoa lies in the Yaracuy valley in north-western Venezuela, a fertile landscape of plantations, farmland and forested mountains. From above the town reads as a compact grid of streets on flat ground, with blocks that loosen toward the edges into smaller settlements and fields. Higher ground rises nearby, giving the map a clear contrast between valley and mountain.
The town is best known as the gateway to Cerro María Lionza, the mountain of Sorte, which is the main pilgrimage site of the María Lionza religious tradition. Pilgrims pass through Chivacoa on their way to the sanctuary areas along the river at the foot of the mountain, and the route between town and mountain is part of its identity.
Beyond that, Chivacoa is a working agricultural town, surrounded by cultivated land and linked by road to the larger cities of the region. A Chivacoa map poster keeps things simple: the orderly street grid, the roads leading out across the valley and the rising terrain that gives the place its reputation.
The town centre follows a regular pattern of square blocks on level ground, a tidy grid that forms the dense heart of the poster.
A road leads from town toward the mountain of Sorte, the route taken by pilgrims to the sanctuaries of María Lionza at the foot of the massif.
Forested slopes rise close to the town, where streets fade out and the map opens into empty space, emphasising the shape of the valley.

Koteā ko Chivacoa
For people from Chivacoa, or those who have made the journey to Sorte, this map holds more than streets. It shows the small town that stands at the threshold of the mountain, a place many Venezuelans carry with them wherever they now live.
The poster can be personalised with a title, subtitle and coordinates line and comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Download HD files for $9 in six print sizes, or order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
