Te mapa
Coram is a hamlet in the Town of Brookhaven, in Suffolk County, set roughly midway between the North and South Shores of Long Island. From above it is a landscape of looping residential streets, cul-de-sacs and shopping plazas, laid out mostly in the second half of the twentieth century around a few much older through roads.
Middle Country Road, Route 25, and Route 112 cross here, and they remain the main axes of the map, straight lines cutting through the softer curves of the subdivisions. The area has colonial roots, and during the Revolutionary War it was the scene of a 1780 raid in which American troops burned a British store of hay.
Patches of woodland, small ponds and green spaces break up the housing tracts, giving a Coram map poster a textured, almost organic pattern. It is a good example of how a suburban place, easy to overlook from the car window, becomes surprisingly graphic once it is reduced to lines on paper.
Two long state routes meet near the centre of the hamlet, forming a clear cross that anchors the whole composition and organises everything around it.
Residential streets branch off the main roads in loops and dead ends, creating repeating, leaf-like shapes across most of the map.
Remaining stands of woodland appear as quiet empty spaces between neighbourhoods, a reminder of the pine and oak country that once covered much of central Long Island.

Koteā ko Coram
Coram is the kind of place people call home for decades, raising children, commuting and coming back for holidays. A map of its streets marks that stretch of life more personally than a postcard view, and it fits easily into a living room or a first apartment.
Add a family name, the street you grew up on or the year you moved in as the title and subtitle, and keep or edit the coordinates line. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit the room.
