Te mapa
Corpus Christi wraps around the western shore of Corpus Christi Bay on the Texas Gulf Coast. Water shapes almost every part of the map. The downtown faces the bay behind a stepped seawall, and the ship channel and port cut inland to the north. Farther out, the long thin barrier islands of Mustang and Padre separate the bay and the Laguna Madre from the open Gulf.
The downtown seawall was designed by Gutzon Borglum, the sculptor of Mount Rushmore, and it gives the bayfront its smooth, even edge. Across the channel, the aircraft carrier USS Lexington is moored as a museum. A Corpus Christi map poster shows how the city sits between a working port and the open coast.
The Harbor Bridge carries traffic high over the ship channel, and the channel itself leads to one of the busiest ports in the United States. South of downtown, the neighbourhoods spread in regular blocks toward Oso Bay. The city ends where the flat coastal land meets tidal flats.
Borglum's stepped seawall runs along downtown in a clean curve and gives the city a precise edge facing Corpus Christi Bay.
The deep channel and port basins cut inland north of downtown. They form the industrial backbone of the city and are crossed by the high Harbor Bridge.
Mustang and Padre islands stretch as thin strips offshore. They enclose the bay and the Laguna Madre and frame the city from the Gulf.

Koteā ko Corpus Christi
People who grew up on the Texas coast, Navy families and anyone who has spent summers on Padre Island will know this coastline at a glance. The poster keeps the bay, the islands and the channel together in one image.
