Te mapa
Dagzê sits on the Lhasa River east of the Tibetan capital, where the valley narrows and the mountains close in on both banks. From above, the town reads as a tight cluster of blocks on flat ground. The braided river channels run alongside it, and the main road follows the water through the valley. Almost everything built stays on the level strip between the slopes.
The surrounding county is best known for Ganden Monastery, founded in 1409 by Tsongkhapa as the first seat of the Gelug school and set high on a ridge above the valley. The town itself stands at roughly 3,700 metres. On the valley floor, the thin lines of field boundaries and irrigation channels show how carefully the flat land is used.
A Dagzê map poster works with those contrasts: dense road lines against the open space of the river, and wide empty areas where the terrain rises too steeply to build. In black and white, the valley becomes a single strong gesture, a band of settlement following water through high country. That is what makes the place easy to read at a glance.
The Lhasa River spreads into several shallow channels here, separated by gravel bars and islands. On the poster these parallel strands form the widest, calmest element beside the town.
The main road follows the river through the valley and links Dagzê to Lhasa in the west. It draws a long, gently curving line that anchors the composition.
Steep slopes rise on both sides of the valley floor. On the map they appear as open areas that frame the settlement and make its narrow footprint obvious.

For anyone who has travelled the Lhasa valley or visited Ganden, this map is a quiet record of a place that feels far from everything. The simple geometry of river, road and town suits a study, a hallway or any room that needs one calm, graphic piece.
