Te mapa
Daigo is a mountain town in the far north of Ibaraki Prefecture, where the Kuji River winds through a narrow valley lined with forested hills. On a map, the settlement follows the river and the valley floor. Roads and the railway squeeze in alongside the water, and the steep, wooded slopes on either side are left mostly empty.
The town is best known for Fukuroda Falls, counted among the three great waterfalls of Japan. The falls drop down a series of rock steps and draw visitors in every season, including winter, when parts of the cascade can freeze. The JR Suigun Line follows the Kuji valley through the area, linking Daigo with Mito to the south.
A Daigo map poster reads as a study in landscape. It shows a long, meandering river, a slim thread of town and a lot of mountain around it. Unlike dense city prints, this one relies on the curve of the water and the way the streets hug it, which gives a restful, almost calligraphic image.
The Kuji River loops through the valley in wide, graceful curves. It forms the backbone of the composition and sets the direction of the town.
The streets and buildings stay in a narrow band beside the river, making the settlement look slim and linear against the surrounding hills.
Forested slopes rise on both sides with few roads, which leaves a lot of calm open space and makes the valley feel sheltered.

Koteā ko Daigo
People hang a map of Daigo to remember a trip to Fukuroda Falls, a quiet stay in the mountains or a family connection to northern Ibaraki. The river's curve works well in minimalist and Japanese-inspired interiors.
You can personalise the title and subtitle, in Latin letters or Japanese, add a date and edit the coordinates line. The five styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper suits the soft mountain setting.
