Te mapa
Dalat is a town in the Mukah Division of Sarawak, on the island of Borneo, beside the Oya River on the low coastal plain. On the map, the river is the main feature, winding in broad loops across flat land. The town's streets gather on its bank, and a few roads reach out toward neighbouring settlements.
This is Melanau country, and the Dalat area is known for sago, the starch palm that has long been central to local livelihoods. The surrounding landscape is mostly flat and wet, with peat swamp, plantations and smaller rivers, so the built area appears as a compact cluster in a wide, open setting.
A Dalat map poster is a quiet composition of river, town and the sparse network of roads between them. Much of the sheet is open space, which gives the meanders of the Oya plenty of room. It suits people with ties to Mukah Division who want a map that feels spacious rather than crowded.
The river curves past the town in wide, looping bends. It is the strongest and most recognisable line on the map.
Streets cluster close to the water, a reminder that the river was long the main route in and out of the area.
Beyond the town, the map is sparse: plantations, swampy lowland and a few long roads. That emptiness lets the river and the streets stand out.
