Te mapa
Damxung lies in a wide valley north of Lhasa, at an altitude of well over four thousand metres. The Nyenchen Tanglha mountains rise along one side of the valley. The town itself is small and follows the route of the main highway. Its streets form a short, simple grid, and open grassland used by herders stretches away on both sides.
The Qinghai–Tibet Railway and the main road north from Lhasa both pass through the valley, so Damxung is on the main route into the region. It's also the usual starting point for trips to Namtso, the large saltwater lake beyond the mountains to the northwest. In summer, the grasslands around town host horse racing and herding festivals.
The Damxung map poster is one of the most spacious prints you can make. A small cluster of streets sits beside the long lines of the road and railway, surrounded by open land in every direction. The emptiness is part of the picture, a reminder of how large the plateau is compared to anything built on it.

Damxung's streets form a short, regular grid beside the highway. It's a small, neat block of detail surrounded by a lot of open space.
The valley floor stretches out almost empty in all directions. This gives the print a spare, minimal look that suits black and white.

Koteā ko Damxung
Damxung is where many travellers first see the high grasslands and the road to Namtso. This map is a reminder of thin air, wide skies and a journey across the Tibetan plateau.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with the date of your trip or the town's altitude. Then choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
