Te mapa
El Negrito is a town in the department of Yoro in northern Honduras. On a map, it appears as a compact cluster of streets at the meeting of a few regional roads. The land around it is mostly agricultural, and the lines of fields, farm tracks and small streams stretch across the valley toward the hills.
The town's street pattern is simple and readable. A central area has closely spaced blocks, and from there the roads become longer and more widely spaced as they head into the countryside. There is no coastline or major river crossing to dominate the frame. The character of the map comes from the balance between the small settlement and the open land around it.
Like much of this part of Honduras, the area's economy is closely tied to farming, and the countryside shapes daily life as much as the town does. An El Negrito map poster shows this relationship plainly. It has a small, dense centre, roads leading out in several directions and a wide rural landscape filling the rest of the frame.
The centre has a compact group of blocks where the main streets meet. It is the densest part of the map and draws the eye to the middle of the poster.
A few roads lead out of town toward neighbouring communities in Yoro. They are the longest lines on the map and give it a sense of direction.
Fields and tracks surround the town in every direction. Their loose, irregular pattern gives the design an open, rural character.

For people from El Negrito and Hondurans abroad, this map is a simple, personal reminder of home. The small centre and open countryside make a calm, uncluttered poster.
