Eysturoy is the second-largest of the Faroe Islands, lying east of Streymoy across the narrow sound of Sundini. From above it is a jagged, branching shape, its coast cut by long fjords that reach deep inland. Mountains fill most of the island, and villages sit on narrow strips of flat land at the heads of fjords or along their shores.
In the north rises Slættaratindur, the highest mountain in the Faroes at 880 metres. To the south, Skálafjørður, the longest fjord in the archipelago, runs deep into the island, lined with villages and the town of Runavík. On the north coast, the village of Gjógv takes its name from a narrow gorge that serves as its natural harbour.
Eysturoy is joined to Streymoy by a short bridge over Sundini, often called the bridge across the Atlantic, and by a subsea tunnel with an underwater roundabout beneath Skálafjørður. Towns such as Fuglafjørður and Gøta sit around sheltered bays. An Eysturoy map poster traces this branching outline in fine detail, an island shaped almost entirely by where mountain meets sea.
The longest fjord in the Faroes cuts north into the island from the south coast. On the poster it forms a long, narrow channel lined with villages on both shores.
A short bridge crosses the narrow sound between Eysturoy and Streymoy. On the map the gap is so slight that the two islands almost appear to touch.
The small village on the north coast sits beside a narrow sea gorge used as a harbour. It forms a small, isolated cluster at the end of a mountain road.

Koteā ko Eysturoy
Eysturoy is home to many Faroese families and a highlight for visitors who drive the fjords or climb Slættaratindur. Its branching coastline makes one of the most detailed and graphic posters in the whole archipelago.
Rename the title after a village, add a date to the subtitle and keep the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files are $9 in six print sizes, and printed posters come with an optional frame.
