Te mapa
Fugloy is small and steep, a single mass of high ground that ends in sheer cliffs on its eastern and northern sides. Its two villages, Kirkja and Hattarvík, sit on the gentler southern slopes, where the land comes down closer to the water. A short road links them along the hillside. Otherwise the island is open grazing land, rising steeply toward the cliff edges.
It is the easternmost island of the Faroes, and the name means bird island. Seabirds nest in large numbers on the eastern cliffs. The permanent population is very small, and a ferry and helicopter service connect the island to the rest of the archipelago, weather permitting.
A Fugloy map poster is one of the most minimal in the Faroe series. It shows a rounded outline, two tiny settlements, a single road and the Atlantic on every side. The drawing is mostly the edge of the land, and that edge is what defines the island: cliffs to the east, landing places to the south.
The eastern shore drops in high sea cliffs where seabirds nest. It is the final edge of the Faroe Islands facing Norway across the open sea.
Kirkja and Hattarvík sit on the southern side of the island. They are the only built-up spots, small clusters of buildings on the lower slopes.
A short road connects the two villages across the southern slope. It is the only continuous line on an island otherwise drawn by its coast.

Koteā ko Fugloy
Fugloy speaks to anyone with family roots in its villages, and to travellers who went as far east as the Faroes allow. Its small, strong outline holds the centre of the page well, and Noir gives the surrounding ocean real depth.
Add a family name, a village or a date in the title and subtitle, then choose one of five styles. A free 900 px watermarked preview shows the layout, and the $9 download includes every print size up to 24×36″ as PNG and PDF.
