Franklin is the seat of Johnson County, about twenty miles south of Indianapolis in central Indiana. From above, it shows the classic shape of a Midwestern county seat: a courthouse square at the centre, with streets running out in a regular grid toward residential neighbourhoods, farmland and the interstate to the east.
Franklin College, founded in the 1830s, sits close to downtown, its campus forming an open area of lawns and buildings within the grid. The historic downtown has kept many of its older brick commercial buildings, and small creeks cross the town, adding a few curving lines to the regular street pattern.
Around the edges, newer subdivisions with curving streets and cul-de-sacs mark the town's growth as part of the Indianapolis region. A Franklin map poster brings these layers together, the square, the college and the surrounding farmland, in a clear and balanced composition.
The Johnson County Courthouse stands at the centre of downtown, with the street grid organised around it in the traditional pattern of Indiana county seats.
The campus lies near downtown, its lawns and quads forming an open space within the grid, a good anchor for alumni and students.
Small streams wind through the town, breaking up the regular blocks, while newer subdivisions with curving streets surround the older core.

Koteā ko Franklin
Franklin College graduates, families from Johnson County and people who grew up around the square often want a clean, honest map of their town. It suits a dorm, a home office or a gift for a graduation or a move.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates yourself, perhaps with a class year or family name. Pick one of five styles and choose a $9 HD download in six print sizes or a matte print shipped from a partner, framed if you like.
