Te mapa
Fujishiro lies in southern Ibaraki, on the level ground of the Kanto plain north of the Tone River. The Joban Line runs through it on a straight diagonal, and the town gathers around its station: tight residential streets, small lots and narrow lanes that suddenly give way to the rectangular grid of irrigated paddy fields stretching toward the horizon.
Once a town in its own right, Fujishiro was merged into the city of Toride in 2005, and the name lives on in the station, the neighbourhood and local addresses. On a Fujishiro map poster, that history shows as a distinct pocket of dense street pattern set slightly apart from Toride's main centre, with open farmland in between.
The Kokai River winds across the plain nearby, one of several slow waterways in this low country, and the geometry of drainage channels and field boundaries around it is unmistakably Japanese: small, precise plots aligned in every direction. It is a commuter place within reach of Tokyo, but from above it still looks rooted in agriculture.
The railway cuts a clean diagonal through town, and the area around the station forms the densest knot of streets anywhere on the map.
Around the built-up area, rice paddies form a fine mosaic of rectangles divided by farm roads and irrigation ditches, a texture that prints beautifully in black and white.
The slow, meandering Kokai River crosses the plain nearby, a single soft curve set against the straight lines of the fields and the railway.

Koteā ko Fujishiro
Fujishiro is the kind of place people carry with them: a childhood near the station, a first flat on a commuter line, the walk past the paddies. A map poster turns that everyday geography into something considered and lasting.
Add a title, a subtitle such as a year or a family name, and the coordinates line. The Paper and Sand styles suit the farmland texture well, alongside Classic black & white, Noir and Blueprint, and the files come in six print sizes.
