Te mapa
This Fushimi lies in Shizuoka Prefecture, in the eastern part of the Suruga lowlands close to Numazu and Mishima, not to be confused with the better-known Fushimi in Kyoto. The land here slopes gently down from the lava fields of Mount Fuji, and the settlement is a mix of homes, small workshops and fields along local roads.
The area is known for its water. Snowmelt and rain from Mount Fuji travel underground through old lava flows and emerge as clear springs in this part of Shizuoka, feeding short, clean rivers such as the Kakita River nearby. Roads and railways linking Numazu with Mishima and the Izu Peninsula pass close by.
A Fushimi map poster shows a quiet corner of the Fuji foothills. Small rivers curve between streets, the grid is loose and irregular, and larger transport lines cross at the edges. In black and white, it becomes a calm, finely detailed print that rewards a closer look.
Short rivers fed by Mount Fuji's groundwater wind through the area, adding soft, curving lines to the map among the streets and fields.
Streets follow old field boundaries and waterways rather than a planned grid, giving the district a gentle, organic street pattern.
Major roads and rail lines linking Numazu, Mishima and Izu pass near the edges of the map, framing the quieter residential centre.
