Te mapa
Gamboru lies in Borno State, in the far north-east of Nigeria, directly on the border with Cameroon. The Cameroonian town of Fotokol stands across a river, and together the two form a crossing point between the countries. The surrounding land is flat and open, part of the wide Lake Chad basin, and seasonal waterways shape the terrain.
From above, the town is compact, with its streets gathered close together near the river and the border crossing. Roads lead west into Nigeria and east into Cameroon, while the plains around appear as broad, lightly marked spaces with scattered settlements. Water levels and vegetation change with the seasons, so the landscape can look very different over the course of a year.
A Gamboru map poster shows a place defined by a boundary. The river line, the compact settlement and the roads crossing into Cameroon form a simple, clear composition. It is a meaningful piece for people with family roots in the town and for anyone connected to the communities of the Lake Chad region.

Gamboru's streets cluster close to the river and the crossing point, forming a dense block set against the openness of the surrounding plains.
Beyond the town, the flat land of the Lake Chad basin stretches away with few features, leaving wide, quiet space around the settlement on the poster.
