Te mapa
Greenfield is a suburb on the south-west side of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Like much of the Midwest, it was shaped by the survey grid, and on a map its main roads run in straight lines north to south and east to west, roughly a mile apart. Within those large squares, residential streets form their own patterns, from straight blocks to curving crescents and cul-de-sacs.
The Root River parkway brings a very different line into this orderly structure. The river corridor and its green margins wind through the western part of the city, cutting diagonally across the grid. On the eastern side, the freeway system around Milwaukee passes nearby, adding broad interchanges to the composition.
A Greenfield map poster makes the layering visible: the long arterial roads, the neighbourhood streets filling each square, the commercial strips along major corridors and the parkland following the river. It is a clear example of how American suburbs are built, printed in clean black and white lines that emphasise the geometry.
Major roads run straight and evenly spaced in both directions, dividing the city into large squares that frame everything else on the map.
A winding green corridor follows the Root River through the west of the city, the only line on the map that ignores the grid.
Inside each grid square, residential streets vary from straight blocks to curving loops, showing different eras of suburban development side by side.

Koteā ko Greenfield
Greenfield is a place of first homes, school years and weekend walks along the parkway. A map poster of the neighbourhood makes a thoughtful housewarming gift or a reminder of home for someone who has moved away from Milwaukee.
