Te mapa
Hang Hau is part of Tseung Kwan O, a new town built largely on land reclaimed from Junk Bay in eastern Hong Kong. From above it looks very different from the older districts. There are large regular plots, wide roads and tall residential estates, all placed on flat ground that was once water.
The MTR station gives the area its name. The neighbourhood is organised around the station, with podiums and walkways linking the towers above street level. To the east and north the reclaimed flats end abruptly against steep hills, and the edge between built-up land and green slope is sharp.
A Hang Hau map poster shows that contrast clearly. It pairs the geometric blocks of the new town with the soft curves of the hills and the straight engineered line of the bay front. It is an unusual portrait of Hong Kong, a place that was planned rather than one that grew slowly over time.
The flat, regular plots of Tseung Kwan O are set out on former seabed. Their straight edges look almost like a drawing on the map.
The bay forms a long, engineered shoreline. It sets a clean boundary for the western side of the composition.
Steep green slopes rise behind the towers. On the poster these appear as open space around the dense estates.

Koteā ko Hang Hau
Hang Hau is home for many families in the towers along the bay, and the map records the exact footprint of that everyday life. It suits someone who grew up in Tseung Kwan O or who has recently moved out of Hong Kong.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with an estate name or a moving date. The poster comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
