Te mapa
Huahine lies in the Leeward group of the Society Islands, northwest of Tahiti. It is really two islands, Huahine Nui to the north and Huahine Iti to the south, separated by a narrow strait and connected by a short road bridge. Both are mountainous and green, and they share a single lagoon enclosed by a barrier reef with motu along its edge.
Fare, on the west coast of Huahine Nui, is the main village and harbour. Near Maeva, on the shore of Lake Fauna Nui, lies one of the largest concentrations of ancient marae, or ceremonial stone platforms, in French Polynesia, along with traditional stone fish traps in the lagoon channel.
A Huahine map poster shows the two islands as a pair, their deep bays facing each other across the central strait. The coastal road circles both, the bridge links them, and the inland lake adds a distinctive white shape in the north. Around them the reef line frames the lagoon, giving the composition a clear outer boundary.

A large saltwater lake in the north of Huahine Nui, separated from the sea by a narrow strip of land. The Maeva marae sites lie along its shore.
Long bays reach into both islands, especially near the central strait. They give each island a lobed, deeply indented outline inside the lagoon.

Koteā ko Huahine
Huahine is often the quieter island on a Society Islands trip, remembered for its lagoon, its villages and the marae at Maeva. The poster keeps both islands and the bridge between them together.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be set to Fare, a guesthouse, a date or a name. Sand suits the beaches and motu, while Noir makes the reef line and lagoon edge stand out.
