Te mapa
Inza is a small town in the west of Ulyanovsk Oblast, in the Volga region. It grew around a railway station, and the tracks still divide the map: a long line runs through town, with residential streets on both sides and rail yards and sidings forming a denser strip in the middle.
Most of the town consists of low-rise housing on a mostly rectangular street pattern, with a few blocks of apartment buildings. Beyond the edge of town, the landscape turns to forest and field. The surrounding district is known for its woodland, which appears on the map as large, even empty areas around the settlement.
An Inza map poster has a clear, almost diagrammatic structure. The railway runs straight through, the streets line up beside it, and the forest surrounds everything. In print, it is the kind of plain, working-town map that becomes more interesting the longer you look at it.
The main line and its yards cut through the town. On the poster they form the strongest single line on the sheet.
Private houses stand along mostly straight, parallel streets. Together they create a calm, regular pattern on both sides of the tracks.
Woodland surrounds the town. It leaves broad open areas on the map that make the settlement stand out sharply.
