Te mapa
Syzran lies in the west of Samara Oblast on the high right bank of the Volga, where the small Syzran River flows into the broad Saratov Reservoir. On a map the town is shaped by water on two sides: the river winds through the middle of the built-up area, while the wide reservoir forms a smooth edge to the east. Rail lines and industrial zones fill much of the flat ground between.
The town began in 1683 as a fortress on the Volga frontier, and the Spasskaya Tower from that kremlin still stands above the river mouth. In 1880 the Alexander Bridge opened across the Volga nearby, carrying the railway east and at the time counted among the longest bridges in Europe. Syzran has been a rail and industrial town ever since.
A Syzran map poster shows the older centre climbing from the river mouth, a denser grid of streets on the higher ground, and the long straight lines of railway track sweeping toward the bridge. The reservoir takes up a large, calm area of the composition, and in black and white it gives the busy street pattern a clear horizon.
The wide Saratov Reservoir runs along the eastern side of town, a broad expanse of open water that anchors the whole composition and sets off the dense streets beside it.
The river of the same name bends through the town before joining the Volga, splitting neighbourhoods and giving the map a winding line through its centre.
The long railway bridge of 1880 reaches across the Volga near Syzran, and together with the tracks running to it, it forms one of the strongest straight lines on the map.

Koteā ko Syzran
Syzran's map is mostly about water and railways, and that gives it a clear, graphic look that works well as a print. It suits people with family roots in the town, anyone who has crossed the Volga by train here, or those who like river cities.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, so the poster can mark a birthplace, a home address or a date that matters. Choose one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
