Te mapa
Jesús del Monte is in the municipality of Huixquilucan, on the forested heights that rise west of Mexico City. The terrain is steep and deeply creased, and the map reflects this. Instead of a grid, streets follow the ridge lines and bend sharply wherever a ravine cuts in. Many roads end in cul-de-sacs.
The area combines an older village core with newer residential developments that climbed the slopes as the metropolis expanded westward. From above, compact older lanes sit beside the looping, self-contained layouts of newer neighbourhoods, and the wooded barrancas in between stay largely undeveloped.
A Jesús del Monte map poster turns this broken terrain into a striking pattern. Tightly wound streets, finger-like ridges and pale ravines give the print a sense of relief with no shading at all. It is an unusual, intricate map, and it will please anyone who has driven up these curves.
Roads trace the high ground in long, twisting lines, and each ridge becomes a distinct branch in the drawing.
Steep barrancas separate the built-up ridges. On the poster they read as open channels running between areas of dense streets.
The older village lanes sit beside looping residential developments. The two patterns give the map varied textures within a small area.

The map suits residents of the hills west of Mexico City and anyone who has made a home among these ridges. Its intricate, almost abstract lines also look good in modern interiors.
