Te mapa
Coyoacán is one of the boroughs of Mexico City, in the south of the capital. Before the city grew around it, it was a separate town, and its old centre still feels that way on a map. Around the Jardín Centenario and the Plaza Hidalgo, narrow streets wind among low houses, and the pattern is irregular compared to the grids that surround it.
Many visitors come for the Casa Azul, the house where Frida Kahlo was born and lived, now a museum. A few streets away is the house where Leon Trotsky lived and was killed in 1940. The Viveros de Coyoacán, a large tree nursery open to walkers, forms a green block in the north.
To the south, the Ciudad Universitaria of UNAM, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, spreads across old lava fields, with its stadium, library and open lawns. Wide avenues cross the borough, and Río Churubusco runs along its northern edge. A Coyoacán map poster shows both the old town lanes and the modern campus.

The UNAM campus covers a large area in the south, with open lawns, sports grounds and curving roads laid out across former lava fields.

Koteā ko Coyoacán
Coyoacán is where many people studied, walked on Sunday afternoons or first lived in Mexico City. Its winding centre and wide campus make a map that feels both personal and recognisable.
