Te mapa
Jieshi is a town in Lufeng, within the city of Shanwei, on the eastern coast of Guangdong province. On the map its setting is maritime. The town sits beside Jieshi Bay, with a coastline of inlets and headlands bordering the South China Sea. Its streets gather near the water and thin out into farmland and low hills inland.
The town has long depended on the sea, with fishing and coastal trade part of its livelihood, and it forms one of the more populous towns in Lufeng. Like much of the eastern Guangdong coast, the area is culturally distinct within the province, and local communities keep strong ties with relatives overseas.
A Jieshi map poster is organised around the bay. The curving shoreline sweeps across the frame, a dense town centre sits by the water, and roads fan out behind it into the countryside. In black and white, the sea becomes a quiet, open surface and the coastline takes on a clean, drawn quality.
The town sits on a sheltered bay of the South China Sea. On the poster its curving shoreline is the defining line, with open water taking up a large part of the frame.
The densest streets lie close to the coast, where the town grew around its harbour and fishing trade. They form a tight cluster against the shore.
Behind the town, the map opens into farmland, villages and low hills crossed by country roads. This lighter area balances the dense coastal core.

Koteā ko Jieshi
For families from Lufeng and their relatives overseas, Jieshi is an ancestral home on the coast. A map of the bay and town is a meaningful way to keep that place present in a home far away.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised with a family name, a village or a date. Choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, and download the HD files for $9.
