Te mapa
Juliaca sits at roughly 3,800 metres on the Altiplano of southern Peru, making it one of the highest cities of its size in the world. The land here is almost perfectly flat, and the city has spread across it in a wide grid of rectangular blocks. From above the pattern extends outward in every direction, gradually thinning into fields and pasture at the edges.
Juliaca is the main commercial centre of the Puno region, known for its large markets and for trade routes that link the Altiplano with the coast, Cusco and Bolivia. Railway lines from Arequipa, Puno and Cusco meet here. The airport that serves the Lake Titicaca area lies on the edge of the city, and these tracks and runways give the map a few strong accents.
Lake Titicaca lies a short distance to the southeast, and small lagoons and wetlands dot the plain around the city. With few hills to interrupt it, the street grid is the defining feature of the landscape. A Juliaca map poster captures that clarity: a modern Andean city laid out in simple geometry on a wide, open plateau.
Rectangular blocks repeat across the flat plateau, forming one of the most regular street patterns in the Peruvian highlands and a clean, graphic print.
Tracks from Arequipa, Puno and Cusco converge in the city. They draw long lines across the grid and mark Juliaca's role as a transport hub.
The long runway of the regional airport lies at the edge of the city, a strong straight shape that anchors one side of the map.

Koteā ko Juliaca
Juliaca is a map for people from the Puno region, travellers who passed through on the way to Lake Titicaca and anyone who admires the stark landscape of the high Andes. The simple grid makes a calm, orderly wall piece.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, for example with the altitude or a meaningful date. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Digital files come in six print sizes.
