Te mapa
Kaminokawa is a town in central Tochigi Prefecture, just south of Utsunomiya. It sits on the northern part of the Kantō plain, where rivers flowing south from the mountains of Nikkō and northern Tochigi cross open farmland. From above, the town looks like a patchwork of rice paddies, residential clusters and straight roads, with river channels running roughly north to south.
The pattern is typical of rural Kantō: small villages along the older roads, newer housing near the main routes, and large areas of irrigated fields divided into neat rectangular plots. Riverbanks and embankments add long lines to the map, while patches of woodland break up the flat land here and there.
A Kaminokawa map poster shows a town defined by farmland and flowing water rather than by a dense center. The roads link it to Utsunomiya and to neighbouring towns, the paddies create a precise grid, and the rivers cut soft curves through it. It is an open, restful design with plenty of space.
