Te mapa
Karasuk lies in the southwest of Novosibirsk Oblast, on the flat Kulunda steppe near the border with Kazakhstan. The town takes its name from the Karasuk River, which winds past the urban area. On a map the river's loose curves contrast with the regular streets of the town, laid out in straight lines across the level ground.
Karasuk grew as a railway town, and the railway remains one of its clearest features, with tracks and yards cutting through the urban plan. The surrounding steppe is dotted with lakes, many of them shallow and saline, which appear on the map as irregular shapes scattered across open land.
A Karasuk map poster brings together the geometry of a Siberian railway town and the softer natural forms around it: river bends, lakes and the empty steppe. It is a clean, spacious composition in which every line carries meaning, and it looks especially striking in the Blueprint and Noir styles.
The river curves past the town, its meanders drawing a soft, flowing line against the regular block pattern of the streets.
Tracks and rail yards cross the town in long straight lines, a reminder of the railway that shaped Karasuk's growth.
Shallow lakes lie scattered across the surrounding plain, adding irregular shapes to the wide, open spaces around the town.
