Te mapa
Kasama sits in the hills of inland Ibaraki, and its map shows a town fitted to its terrain. The centre gathers around Kasama Inari Shrine, counted among the three great Inari shrines of Japan, with streets leading to its gates. Beyond the centre, roads curve through wooded hills and valleys, linking smaller districts and villages.
The town is known for Kasama ware, a pottery tradition dating back to the Edo period, and kilns and studios are spread across the surrounding hills. The Kasama Geijutsu no Mori park brings together craft and open space in a large green area. In autumn, the shrine hosts a chrysanthemum festival that draws visitors from across the region.
Since a 2006 merger, Kasama has included Iwama, where Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of aikido, lived and trained. A Kasama map poster shows a quiet hill town with deep roots in craft and faith, where roads follow the valleys and the shrine precinct stands at the centre of daily life.
The shrine grounds form a clear open space at the centre of town, with streets converging toward the gates of one of Japan's major Inari shrines.
Kilns and studios of Kasama ware are scattered through the surrounding hills, reached by narrow roads that wind through the wooded landscape.
The merged Iwama area, linked to the founder of aikido, adds a separate cluster of streets to the south, connected to the centre by roads through the hills.

Koteā ko Kasama
Kasama suits potters, aikido students who trained in Iwama and families who visit the shrine each year. The map captures a small town where craft, faith and the hills shape everyday life.
The title and subtitle can carry a name, a date or a place, and the coordinates line can be edited. Five styles are available; Paper suits the town's craft traditions, and Classic black & white keeps the winding roads clear.
