Te mapa
Khanna lies in Ludhiana district of Punjab, on the old Grand Trunk Road between Ludhiana and Ambala. The highway and the railway run side by side through the town and set its orientation. A long corridor of streets lines both sides, with the older bazaar area close to the road and newer residential areas spreading into the flat, intensively farmed plain around it.
The town is best known for its grain market, one of the largest in the region, where wheat and rice from the surrounding fields are brought for sale after each harvest. Much of Khanna's growth has followed that trade. The town's prosperity has always depended on the land around it and on the roads that carry its harvest away.
A Khanna map poster turns the town into a clear diagram: the straight line of highway and railway, the denser grid around the market, and the rectangular field boundaries of the Punjab plain at the edges. It shows an agricultural town laid out along its transport routes, and it reads as cleanly on a wall as it does on a map.
The historic highway runs straight through the town and forms the main axis of the map. It is the route that has long linked Khanna to the rest of northern India.
The railway runs parallel to the highway. It forms a second strong line that divides the town and frames the older commercial streets between them.
Around the built-up area, the land is divided into regular rectangular fields. This quiet geometric pattern fills the edges of the poster on every side.

Koteā ko Khanna
Many families from Khanna now live far from Punjab, in other Indian cities or abroad. A map of the town, with its highway, railway and bazaar streets, is a simple way to keep that place present in a new home.
The poster can carry a personalised title, subtitle and coordinates, such as a family name and a year. Choose one of five styles, from Classic black & white and Noir to Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download all six print sizes for $9 or order a framed print.
