Te mapa
Patiāla, in the Indian state of Punjab, grew as the capital of a princely state, and the map still shows it. At the centre lies the old city, a close weave of bazaars and lanes around the Qila Mubarak fort complex. Outside it, the later city opens up into broader roads, palace grounds and gardens laid out by the maharajas.
The name travels well beyond Punjab: the Patiala salwar, with its generous pleats, and the famously large Patiala peg both carry it. The city was also a centre of patronage for music and sport, and its palace complexes, including Moti Bagh, remain landmarks that stand out as large, open parcels on the street plan.
A Patiāla map poster captures the layering of old and new on flat Punjabi land. The tight grain of the walled quarter sits at the heart, framed by formal green spaces and long straight avenues, while newer residential colonies extend outward in orderly blocks toward the surrounding farmland and canals.
The fort complex anchors the old city, with narrow market lanes packed around it in a pattern that reads as the densest part of the map.
Large walled estates such as Moti Bagh appear as broad open parcels, giving the southern side of the city a spacious, deliberate structure.
Landscaped gardens like the Baradari grounds add geometric green spaces between the old city and the newer planned colonies.

Koteā ko Patiāla
Patiāla has a strong identity, from its royal past to its dress and its universities, and a map of it is a proud reminder of home. Former students and families living abroad often choose it for a study or living room.
Add a title, a subtitle with a family name or date, and a personal coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand gives the old city a warm, understated tone.
