Te mapa
Kitamoto lies in central Saitama, north of Tokyo. It is one of a line of towns that grew along the JR Takasaki Line and National Route 17, and the highway largely follows the old Nakasendo route between Edo and Kyoto. On the map, the railway and the road run side by side from southeast to northwest, and the densest streets sit close to both.
Away from the station, the pattern relaxes into small residential lanes, school grounds and patches of farmland. To the west the land slopes gently down to the Arakawa, whose wide riverbed and embankments make a broad pale band along the edge of the town.
A Kitamoto map poster suits the scale of the place. The station area makes a clear centre, and neighbourhoods spread out from it in a fine mesh. The river gives the sheet a strong edge on one side.
The Takasaki Line and Route 17 run almost parallel through the town. Together they make two straight lines that organise the whole map from corner to corner.
On the western side, the Arakawa river runs through a wide bed of open ground between its levees. On the poster it appears as a large area with no streets, which balances the dense town centre.
Around the station, narrow lanes form the tight, irregular network typical of Japanese suburbs. The detail looks best at larger print sizes.

Koteā ko Kitamoto
Many people know Kitamoto as the station where they got on the train every morning, or as a first family home within reach of Tokyo. A map of it is a modest, personal thing to hang, and it means a lot to those who lived there.
You can personalise the title, the subtitle and the coordinates line, for example with a moving-in date or a family name. Choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand to match the room.
