Ponds and valleys
Small rivers and ponds cross the town. Their irregular outlines give the poster its softest shapes and determine where the streets bend.

Te mapa
Klintsy lies in Bryansk Oblast, in the far west of Russia, near the borders with Belarus and Ukraine. The land here is gently rolling, and the map shows a town arranged around small rivers and a chain of ponds, with streets curving along the valleys and straightening out on the higher ground between them.
The town was founded in the early eighteenth century by Old Believers, religious dissenters who settled in this border region. It later became a centre of the woollen textile industry, and the old mill districts sit near the water, where the factories once needed it. Residential streets of low houses surround them, with Soviet-era blocks on the edges and the railway line to the east.
Klintsy's recent history includes the Chernobyl disaster, whose fallout reached parts of the Bryansk region in 1986. A Klintsy map poster keeps to the town's shape: its ponds and valleys, its old industrial quarters, and the grid of streets that grew around them over three centuries.
Small rivers and ponds cross the town. Their irregular outlines give the poster its softest shapes and determine where the streets bend.
Former wool mill areas sit close to the water. On the map they appear as larger blocks among the finer grain of houses.
Much of the town is small houses on long, straight streets. The repeating lines give the poster a calm, even texture.

Koteā ko Klintsy
Klintsy is a hometown for many people now living in Moscow and elsewhere. Its ponds and valleys are easy to recognise and make a map that feels personal rather than generic.
Change the title and subtitle, perhaps in Cyrillic, with a family name or a date, and edit the coordinates line. Then choose one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
