Te mapa
Koesan, usually written Goesan today, is a county in North Chungcheong Province, in the mountainous interior of South Korea. Its main town sits in a valley, with a compact grid of streets beside a river and steep, forested ridges rising on several sides. Beyond the town, roads follow the valleys, linking scattered villages and threading between hills and small fields.
The county is known for agriculture, particularly its red chili peppers, which are celebrated at an annual festival, and it has promoted organic farming for many years. Its mountains and valleys, including the scenic gorges around Hwayang, attract hikers and visitors. On a map, the terrain shows through the pattern of the roads, which bend and branch to follow every fold of the land.
A Koesan map poster presents the town and its valley in clean black and white: the modest street grid, the winding river and roads curling away between the hills. The absence of dense urban sprawl leaves room for the shape of the landscape to come through. It is a thoughtful piece for families from the county or anyone who has walked its valleys.
The main town fits into a river valley, its compact grid of streets bounded by rising ground, giving the poster a clear, contained centre.
A river curves through the valley beside the town, a soft natural line that contrasts with the straighter streets of the centre.
Roads leaving town bend and branch to follow the folds of the hills, drawing elegant, looping lines across the edges of the map.

Koteā ko Koesan
Koesan is the kind of place people return to for family holidays and harvest seasons, and a map keeps that connection visible all year. Its calm valley setting translates into a quiet, balanced composition that sits well in an apartment in Seoul or a home abroad.
