Te mapa
Kurayoshi is a castle town in central Tottori Prefecture, where the Tenjin River plain meets the surrounding hills. Its best-known district is the Shirakabe Dozogun. Rows of white-plastered storehouses with red roof tiles line a narrow canal there, and small stone bridges lead to the back doors of old merchant houses.
The castle itself is long gone, but its site on Mount Utsubuki is now a park known for its cherry blossoms, overlooking the historic centre. The old town has a fine grain of narrow streets and long, thin plots. Newer neighbourhoods and the station district spread across the flatter land toward the river.
A Kurayoshi map poster shows both scales at once: the tight weave of the merchant quarter beside the wooded castle hill, and the looser modern streets reaching out across the plain. The canal and the river add soft curving lines, and the green slopes form calm open areas at the edges of the design.
The white-walled storehouses along the canal form the historic core, a narrow strip of closely built plots and small bridges.
The former castle hill is now a wooded park. It rises as a green block beside the old town, known for its spring cherry blossoms.
The river and its flat valley carry newer roads and neighbourhoods, which spread out from the historic centre.

Koteā ko Kurayoshi
Visitors to Tottori often remember Kurayoshi for its canal-side storehouses and quiet streets. A poster of the old town is a subtle memento of that walk, and it suits people who grew up in the city as well.
You can personalise the title, the subtitle and the coordinates line, for example with the date of a visit. Choose among five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
