Te mapa
Kyŏngsŏng lies on the northeastern coast of North Korea, in North Hamgyong province, a short way south of Chongjin. On a map the town sits on a narrow band of low ground between the sea and the mountains, which rise steeply inland. The coast forms a clear eastern edge, and roads and a railway run along it.
The area is known in the region for its hot springs, and the name Kyŏngsŏng goes back to an older administrative town in this part of the peninsula. Beyond that, detailed information is limited, and the map is best read for its basic geography: a settlement set in the narrow space between high ground and open water.
A Kyŏngsŏng map poster is simple and strong. A line of coast, a small group of streets, and mountains making up much of the frame. It suits collectors of rarely mapped places and people with family connections to northeastern Korea.
The shoreline runs along the eastern side of the map. It is a clear boundary against the open water beyond.
The main road and the railway follow the narrow lowland along the coast. They tie the town to the other settlements on this shore.
High ground rises steeply inland and occupies much of the frame. On the poster it reads as quiet space behind the small settled area.

Koteā ko Kyŏngsŏng
Some places are hard to visit but still matter to people, through family history or a long interest in the region. A plain, accurate map of Kyŏngsŏng is a restrained way to keep that connection visible.
