Te mapa
Lintong is a district of Xi'an in Shaanxi Province, about thirty kilometres east of the city centre. It lies where the flat plain of the Wei River meets the northern slopes of Mount Li, and on the map the town's streets fill the lower ground while the mountain rises abruptly to the south in a mass of contours and winding paths.
The district is world-famous for the mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of a unified China, and the Terracotta Army discovered nearby in 1974. The excavation pits and the large burial mound lie a short distance east of the town centre, and they appear on the map as broad, open shapes among the fields and villages.
At the foot of the mountain, the hot springs of Huaqing have been used since ancient times, and an imperial palace was built there under the Tang dynasty, linked to the story of Emperor Xuanzong and Yang Guifei. A Lintong map poster frames all of this in simple black lines, from the town streets to the mountain slopes.
The mountain rises steeply south of the town, its ridges and paths forming a dense, textured area that contrasts with the regular streets below.
The burial mound of the first emperor and the Terracotta Army pits lie just east of the centre, forming large open spaces on the map.
The Tang-era palace and hot-spring gardens sit at the foot of Mount Li, where the town's streets meet the lower slopes of the mountain.

Lintong is a place people visit once and remember: the rows of terracotta warriors, the springs, the view of the mountain. A map of the district is a thoughtful souvenir for travellers and a proud keepsake for families from Xi'an.
