Liwá Map Poster & Print

Liwá lies in Al Batinah North Governorate, on Oman's northern coast between Sohar and Shinas. From above, it follows the pattern typical of the Batinah: a line of settlements and date gardens running parallel to the shore, with the flat coastal plain behind them and the mountains of the Hajar range further inland.

The historic Liwa fort stands as a reminder of the area's past as a coastal stronghold, and fishing and date farming have long shaped daily life. Today the coastal highway runs along the length of the region, connecting Liwá to the larger cities north and south.

A Liwá map poster captures that long, linear geography: the shoreline, the belt of gardens and homes, and the roads running parallel to the sea. The Gulf of Oman fills one side of the frame, giving the drawing a strong, clean edge and a sense of open space.

The coastline

The shore of the Gulf of Oman runs along the edge of the map in a long, gentle line, with open water taking up a large part of the frame.

02

Date gardens

Plantations and villages form a band behind the coast, their plots and lanes creating a fine, textured strip between shore and plain.

03

Coastal highway

The main road runs parallel to the sea, a firm line that ties Liwá to Sohar and Shinas and anchors the whole composition.
