Te mapa
Los Realejos lies on the north coast of Tenerife, at the western edge of the Orotava Valley. The municipality runs from the Atlantic shore up toward the high ground below Mount Teide, so the map is shaped by the slope. Roads zigzag up the hillside, neighbourhoods follow the contours, and ravines cut downhill through the settlement toward the sea.
The town is known across the Canary Islands for its May festivities, when its districts compete with large firework displays around the Day of the Cross. Along the coast, the protected Rambla de Castro area preserves cliffs, palm groves and old paths above the ocean, a quieter counterpart to the built-up slopes above.
A Los Realejos map poster shows a place that is steep and layered rather than flat and gridded. The winding roads, the dark lines of ravines and the rugged coastline at the bottom of the sheet give it a strong sense of height. In monochrome, the pattern looks almost like a contour drawing of the island's northern flank.
Roads switch back and forth to climb the slope. Their zigzag lines are the most distinctive pattern on the poster.
Deep ravines run down the hillside toward the sea, splitting neighbourhoods and adding long natural lines to the composition.
The coastline at the foot of the municipality is rocky and irregular, forming a strong edge along the bottom of the map.
