Te mapa
Mkushi is a district town in Zambia’s Central Province, on the Great North Road, which links Lusaka with the north-east of the country. From above, the town is modest in scale. A handful of streets gather around the highway, with markets, offices and homes on either side, and then give way to fields and woodland.
The surrounding district is known for commercial farming and is often associated with large farm blocks that grow crops for national markets. That farming setting defines the map beyond the edge of town. Long straight tracks mark out field boundaries, and the landscape opens into a broad, gently rolling plateau.
A Mkushi map poster captures a place organised by its road. The highway draws a firm line across the sheet, and the town gathers along it in a loose, practical pattern. For anyone who has worked on a farm here, taught at a local school or grown up in the district, it is an honest and unfussy picture of home.
The main highway runs straight through the town and dominates the composition: a single strong line with local streets branching off it at intervals.
Near the road, a small cluster of streets forms the commercial and administrative heart. It is compact enough for the whole centre to fit comfortably within one frame.
Beyond the built area, long field boundaries and farm tracks create straight lines and large open blocks that give the outer map a calm, spacious texture.
