Monte Santo de Minas lies in the south of Minas Gerais, not far from the São Paulo state border. It is in the Sul de Minas region, known across Brazil for its coffee. From above, the town sits on uneven, rolling land. Its central streets form a rough grid near the main square, then bend as they follow the slopes outward.
