Te mapa
Motul lies on the flat limestone plain of northern Yucatán, east of Mérida. Like many towns in the state, it follows a colonial grid: straight streets crossing at right angles around a main square, with the church and civic buildings facing the plaza. There are no rivers on the surface here, so the street pattern itself carries the whole map.
The town was an important centre of the henequen industry, and the surrounding land still shows the geometry of old fields and haciendas. Motul is also known as the birthplace of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, a governor of Yucatán, and as the source of huevos motuleños, a breakfast dish now served far beyond the town.
A Motul map poster shows the grid at its clearest. Blocks radiate from the centre in even steps, then loosen into rural roads that head out across the plain toward neighbouring towns. In black and white, the absence of rivers and hills gives the composition a calm, measured regularity.
The main square sits at the heart of the grid, framed by the church and public buildings, and every street pattern leads back to it.
Straight streets cross at right angles in the classic Spanish colonial layout, forming even blocks across the whole town.
Beyond the edge of town, roads run straight across flat former henequen land toward the neighbouring towns of the region.

Koteā ko Motul
For people from Motul, or anyone who has spent a morning in its plaza, this map keeps the town's clear, familiar layout. It pairs well with other Yucatán towns in a small series.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, and you can choose from five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand echoes the pale limestone of the region.
