Te mapa
Nilambūr is a town in the Malappuram district of northern Kerala, at the foot of the Western Ghats. The Chaliyar River and its tributaries wind through the area, and the town spreads along a few main roads between the water and the forested hills. From above it is a landscape of dense greenery, broken by clusters of houses, rubber estates and paddy fields.
Nilambūr is famous for teak. Conolly's Plot, planted in the 1840s under British rule, is regarded as the oldest teak plantation in the world. The town also has a teak museum dedicated to the history and science of the tree. A scenic branch railway runs from Shoranur through forest and plantations and ends in the town.
A Nilambūr map poster shows a town that stays closely tied to its natural setting. Rivers draw soft curves across the frame, roads follow the valleys rather than a planned grid, and the edges of the town fade into forest. It is a quiet, organic composition that suits anyone with roots in this part of Kerala.
The Chaliyar and its tributaries curve through the area. They form the strongest natural lines on the map and decide where roads and houses can go.
Teak plantations, including the historic Conolly's Plot, lie close to the town. Their forest gives the map broad unbuilt areas between the settlements.
The railway from Shoranur ends in Nilambūr. Its single track crosses the district and reaches its terminus here, at the edge of the hills.

Koteā ko Nilambūr
Many Keralites living in the Gulf, Bengaluru or further abroad keep strong ties to their hometowns. A map of Nilambūr with a personalised title, a subtitle naming the family home or a date, and the coordinates line makes a meaningful gift for parents and a reminder of home.
The poster comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The $9 digital files come in six sizes, each as a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF. Printed posters ship from partners in over 30 countries.
