Te mapa
North Peoria is the northern side of Peoria, Illinois, where the city climbs away from the Illinois River and levels out onto open upland. From above, the change is easy to see. The older blocks nearer the river keep a regular street grid, and further north the pattern loosens into looping drives, cul-de-sacs and the wide arterial roads of postwar growth.
The river is the strongest line on the map. Here the Illinois widens into Peoria Lake, a long, broad stretch of water that runs alongside the city's eastern edge. Above it the bluffs cut the land into wooded ravines, and on paper they show up as gaps where the streets stop, bend or turn back on themselves.
A North Peoria map poster puts both halves of this landscape on one sheet: the dense, orderly neighbourhoods and the looser suburban edge, all held in place by the water. In black and white it looks almost like a diagram of how a Midwestern river city grew outward, one decade and one subdivision at a time.

Steep, wooded slopes rise between the river and the upland. Streets break off and wind around them, which leaves soft, irregular gaps in the grid.
Further from the river, curving residential streets and cul-de-sacs replace the straight blocks, and the map takes on a looser, more organic texture.

People hang this map for the street they grew up on, the first house they bought, or the drive along the river they have made a thousand times. It is a local map, and it is most meaningful to people who know which loop leads home.
You can put a family name, a move-in date or a neighbourhood in the title, then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital files come in six print sizes, or you can order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
