Peto Map Poster & Print

Peto lies in the south of Yucatán state, on the flat limestone plain that covers most of the peninsula. Like many towns in the region, it follows a regular grid centred on a main plaza and church. Streets run at right angles, and the blocks become looser toward the edges before giving way to low forest and fields.

The town is a local centre for the southern part of the state, and the surrounding area has a strong Maya heritage. Yucatán has almost no surface rivers. Water moves underground through the limestone, which is why the map around Peto shows roads and settlements but very few streams or lakes.

A Peto map poster has a clean, almost diagrammatic look: the central grid, the plaza as its focal point, and a few long roads leaving toward neighbouring towns. Without rivers or hills to bend it, the geometry stays simple. In black and white, the design is calm and legible, a clear portrait of a town on the Yucatán plain.

01

Central plaza

The main square and its church sit at the centre of the grid. It is the reference point from which the town's streets are laid out.

02

Regular grid

Straight streets cross at right angles and form even blocks. This is typical of colonial-era towns across the peninsula.

03

Flat hinterland

Roads run straight across the limestone plain toward other towns. There are few rivers or hills to interrupt their course.
