Te mapa
Petrovsk lies in the north of Saratov Oblast, on the Medveditsa River, a tributary of the Don. The town was founded in 1698 by order of Peter the Great as a fortress on the southern frontier, and it takes its name from him. On a map, the centre shows a regular grid of streets, a plan typical of Russian provincial towns reshaped in later centuries.
The river forms a curving edge along one side of town, with floodplain meadows and small lakes along its banks. Beyond the built-up area, open fields and farmland stretch across gently rolling land. The contrast between the straight streets and the winding river is the defining feature of the town's shape from above, and it gives the map a clear, readable structure.
A Petrovsk map poster makes sense for anyone with roots in the town, where family stories often go back generations. The drawing is balanced and calm: a disciplined grid, the free curve of the Medveditsa and wide open space around it, a map that suits both classic interiors and minimal rooms.
The central streets cross at right angles in a rigid pattern of blocks, giving the core of the town an ordered, almost architectural look on paper.
The river loops along the edge of town, its bends and floodplain creating an organic line that contrasts with the straight street grid.
Beyond the town, fields and field roads cover the gently rolling land, leaving wide empty spaces that frame the urban area on every side.

Koteā ko Petrovsk
Petrovsk is more than three centuries old, and many families here have deep ties to it. A map poster honours that continuity, a clean record of the streets where parents and grandparents lived and where the town began as a frontier fort.
