Te mapa
Phanom Sarakham is a district town in Chachoengsao Province, east of Bangkok, on the broad lowland that stretches toward the eastern seaboard. The map is flat and open. A compact town centre sits where main roads meet, and around it rice fields, orchards and small waterways spread out in a patchwork of irregular plots.
The district is mostly agricultural and serves as a market and service centre for the farming communities around it. Its position on routes linking the Bangkok region with eastern Thailand has shaped its growth, with shophouses and markets lining the main roads through town.
A Phanom Sarakham map poster shows that simple structure clearly. The dense core sits at a crossroads, the highways lead away in several directions, and the thin lines of canals and field boundaries fill the space in between. It is a modest map, and a personal one for those who know the town.
The town grew around the meeting of main roads, and its densest streets gather at that junction. This forms a clear hub in the middle of the map.
Fields and orchards surround the town in irregular plots, and their boundaries give the outer parts of the map a fine, uneven texture.
Canals and streams wind through the lowland, as they do across much of central Thailand. They add thin curving lines that cross the farmland.
