Te mapa
Pudussery West lies in Palakkad district in eastern Kerala, near the border with Tamil Nadu. This is the Palakkad Gap, the wide break in the Western Ghats that road and rail use to cross between the two states. On a map it is not a compact town. It is a loose spread of houses, lanes and compounds strung along roads and set among green fields.
The main lines on the sheet are the transport corridors that pass through the gap, the highway and the railway heading east toward Coimbatore, both drawn as long, gently curving strokes. Around Kanjikode, part of the wider Pudussery area, industrial plots appear as larger, more regular blocks. A finer pattern of rural lanes and field edges fills the space between them.
A Pudussery West map poster is less about a single centre than about how settlement follows the routes through the hills. At a close zoom, the village lanes and house plots come forward. At a wider zoom the corridor itself becomes the subject, with road and rail threading across the sheet from one state toward the other.
Highway and railway run side by side through the low pass in the Western Ghats and cross the map as two long, parallel lines heading toward Tamil Nadu.
The Kanjikode industrial area adds large, rectangular plots and service roads, a noticeably more geometric pattern than the surrounding village lanes.
Away from the main roads, narrow lanes wander between homes and fields and form an irregular, organic mesh that fills the quieter parts of the poster.
