Te mapa
Rampurhat lies in the Birbhum district of West Bengal, on the gently undulating plain west of the Ganges. The map shows a compact, dense town where narrow streets crowd around the railway, the market and the main roads. Beyond the edges, the pattern loosens into villages, ponds and fields, typical of the rural landscape of Birbhum with its red laterite soil.
The town is an important railway junction on the line through Birbhum and serves as a hub for the surrounding area. It is also the nearest large town to Tarapith, a well-known Hindu temple and pilgrimage site dedicated to the goddess Tara, which draws visitors throughout the year. Many pilgrims pass through Rampurhat on their way.
A Rampur Hat map poster shows a town organised around movement: rail lines as strong, straight strokes, roads leading out toward villages, and a dense core of lanes where daily life happens. Ponds scattered across the countryside add small, rounded shapes. It is a clear portrait of a Bengal market town and its surroundings.
Tracks run through the town in long, straight lines, the most prominent feature of the map and the reason much of the town grew where it did.
Near the station and the main roads, narrow lanes form a tight network of blocks, the busiest and most detailed part of the drawing.
Around the town, small ponds and fields fill the landscape, adding scattered shapes that soften the edges of the map and show the rural character of Birbhum.
