Te mapa
Rodeo del Medio is in the Maipú department of Mendoza, in the irrigated lowland east of the city of Mendoza. On the map, a grid of streets sits among vineyards, olive groves and fields, with narrow irrigation channels running along the roads. The Andes rise to the west, though beyond the frame of a town-scale map.
Mendoza is in a dry region, and agriculture depends on water diverted from rivers fed by Andean snowmelt. The whole area is crossed by canals and acequias, small channels that often run alongside streets and between rows of vines. Maipú is one of the province's main wine-growing areas, and its vineyards come up close to the town.
A Rodeo del Medio map poster shows a town defined by farmland and water. The street grid is regular, but the vineyards and channels around it give the edges a detailed, linear texture. Printed in black and white, it looks like a technical drawing of a working landscape, with every channel and row of vines serving a purpose.
Vineyards run close to the built-up area in long rectangular blocks, surrounding the town with a fine, regular pattern.
Canals and acequias follow roads and field boundaries, adding thin parallel lines that show how water moves through the landscape.
The centre follows a straightforward grid of blocks, typical of Argentine towns, which looks crisp against the farmland around it.
