Te mapa
Round Lake Beach is named for the water at its centre, a compact, nearly circular lake left behind by retreating glaciers. From above, residential streets bend around the shoreline in loops and crescents, while straighter roads run out toward neighbouring villages. The plan reads less like a grid and more like a set of ripples spreading out from one point.
The village sits in Lake County, north-west of Chicago, in a landscape dotted with small lakes, wetlands and ponds. It began as a place for summer cottages and grew into a year-round suburb, which explains its mix of short blocks, cul-de-sacs and winding lanes. On a map, patches of water keep breaking into the pattern of houses and gardens.
A Round Lake Beach map poster turns this quiet suburban geometry into a clean black-and-white composition. The lake sits near the centre as a solid shape, the roads around it become fine lines, and the nearby water adds weight at the edges. It suits anyone who grew up here, bought a first home here or spent summers on the shore.
The lake that gives the village its name forms a near-circle on the map. Streets curve to follow its edge, and the beach on its shore supplies the second half of the name.
Away from the water, residential blocks break into looping drives and dead-end courts. This pattern is typical of the outer Chicago suburbs and prints as dense, delicate linework in black and white.
Wetlands, ponds and neighbouring lakes surround the village, so a wider crop picks up scattered shapes of water that give this corner of northern Illinois its broken texture.

Koteā ko Round Lake Beach
People hang this map for the lake they swam in, the street they grew up on or the house they bought in a quiet Lake County suburb. It is a personal place rather than a famous one, and that is what makes a precise map of it meaningful.
